Hooks of Tortuga

In games such as Pirate Borg, the tone and painting of a scene in which the Player Characters find themselves seems to me one of the most important jobs of a good Game Master.

Think of Tortuga as it was portrayed in Pirates of the Caribbean, or think of that moment when the hobbits first step inside The Prancing Pony — through different details, sights and interesting (and sometimes unsettling) faces, the place comes to life and the main characters are a part of it.

The intent of these here random tables is as follows:

• to make Tortuga come to life,
• to make every visit to Tortuga a unique experience,
• to give Player Characters the possibility to interact with the world (and sometimes for the world to interact with them),
• to give them reasons to return.

Take what ye can, give nothing back!! (Unless ye feel like it)
